Meditative Sedatives
Continued meditation brings great profit to the soul. Passant and transient thoughts are more pleasant, but not so profitable. Deliberate meditation is of most use because it secures the return of the thoughts. —Thomas Manton

Spit in the Face
Spit in the face
Disgrace
Displaced from society
Minority
Why oh why do we not see?
Free
Stripes across the back
Slash
I had the whip
Trip
Don’t slip
Flip
The page
A new chapter written
Smitten
My iniquities beaten
Defeatin’
Sins of my past
Don’t last
For they are
Far…Far
Like the east
From the west
Now I have power
This hour
Take the sword, the shield
March forward, don’t yield
The Gospel holdin’
Good News showin’
His Word sayin’
Speakin’ after prayin’
Another Seed planted
Waters
Grows
Shows
Signs of life
Maintained
Sustained
Then proclaimed
On purpose
The blood spillin’
“The Hero
Dyin’ for the Vill’in”
No greater story
Told
The Father
Sacrificing the Son
For when He said
“It is Finished”
It was done

Thirteen Thousand Five Hundred and Five
Thirteen thousand five hundred and five days
Three hundred million slaves
One power at the helm
Guided by Three (yet One)
Thirty seven years to realize
Whole-hearted souls materialize
Created by a masterful agenda
Guided by a Decree
Thirteen thousand eight hundred and seventy
What kind of man will I be
Forged by the forcible
Or managed by the Free
Thirty eight years coming so quickly
More and more seem sickly
Powers that be will be
I will look across the Crystal Sea

Sometimes are only Sometimes
Sometimes I'm not sure
Sometimes I'm not hopeful
Sometimes I feel it's over
-Sometimes-
Sometimes It feels helpless
Sometimes It seems impossible
Sometimes It's only black
-Sometimes-
Times are comin'
when the rain will fade
when the sun will break
and tears will be no more
-Someday-
Times are comin'
when death will be life
when pain will not be a word
and fears are a memory
-Someday-
...............
Sometimes are only Sometimes
but Someday will be forever
