Continued meditation brings great profit to the soul. Passant and transient thoughts are more pleasant, but not so profitable. Deliberate meditation is of most use because it secures the return of the thoughts.

.38 Caliber
spin the cylinder
cock the hammer
slow pressure
building
six reasons
to quit
six reasons
to stay
I usually don't like to explain poems, because I like for everyone to have their own personal interpretation in most cases. However, I suppose I should clarify this one. The overall theme is the power of choices. This poem actually is personal(some of my poems are not). In particular this has to do with my job. I carry a .38 S&W sometimes,(I love this gun and being able to shoot it at the range is one of the best parts of my job) so I got to thinking of a way to describe the stressful choices. My job is a blessing, but the last couple weeks in particular have been very stressful. I count the blessings and the curses, so I thought describing the .38 Caliber was a good way to express this.
